It was India's win over terrorism when the apex court upheld the death sentence of Kasab, the main accused in the 26/11 Mumbai blasts case. Another phenomenal day in the judiciary when the Special court convicted 32 persons including a former BJP Minister in the Gujarat Naroda-Patiya. The signals that the judiciary gave was quite heard by the nation. Be it Hindu, Muslim, Christian or any religion, India is one, all of us are brethren. And anyone who tries to disturb this harmony will not be spared.

Apart from this the country celebrated Onam and the ten day carnival bagan in Kerala amidst pomp and grandeur. Officially the nation celebrated the 'National Sports Day.' Major Dhyan Chand was born on this day in 1905 and to commemorate his service to the India's national game, Hockey, the nation celebrates his birthday.
