BJP to take on T issue
Bharatiya Janata Party led by the state unit president G Kishen Reddy announced that it would take up protest in Jantar Mantar, Delhi for carving the Telangana state from the erstwhile unified Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana issue initially the forte of the Telangana Rashtra Smaithi is being taken up by BJP, to acquire a firm foothold in the erstwhile region, say sources. The proposed satyagraha would be held in the nation's capital on the September 03.
BJP leader also reiterated the party's stand to make the Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17, as an official celebrations and wanted the state government to declare the issue accordingly.
He questioned the dubious stands of the ruling party in fielding a state minister to debate on the Telangana issue, in the Rajya Sabha, last week.
Mr Reddy also took a dig at the Telugu Desam President N Chandrababu Naidu, for his remarks that the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be prevented from being the Prime Minister. Mr Reddy said that the TDP Chief said that the later would join any party to make that happen, only shows his volatility. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
