CBI gets nod to attach Ramalinga Raju's assets

The City Civil Court in Hyderabad has granted permission to the  Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to attach the assets of Ramalinga Raju, which are worth Rs. 120 crore, to the current case. It my be recalled that CBI, which is trying Ramalinga Raju's assets case, has sought permission from the court to attach the properties of Ramalinga Raju since the case was on the verge of completion.

The court, which has responded to the petition, has given nod to attach the properties. The CBI discovered that Ramalinga Raju had assets in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It may be noted that Ramalinga Raju, who was the founder and ex chairman, of Satyam Computers. He resigned from the board in 2009 for allegedly cheating shareholders. Subsequently, he was taken into the custody and lodged at Chanchalguda Jail. He was, however, granted bail by the Supreme Court in November, 2011.
