Holy Ramzan begins

The holy Ramadan-the ninth month of Islamic calendar- has begun as the moon was sighted near Mysore on Friday late evening. The official announcement was made by Ruet-e-Hilal committee the moment moon was sighted. The committee said it was sighted in Mysore, Bagepalli and Kirgaval of Karnataka.

The announcement brought joys among Muslim brethren, who during this 30-day Ramadan season, will observe strict fasting from dawn to desk besides giving charities. The time-table was distributed across all mosques in the country about  fasting.

According to the time-table, the early morning meal (sehri) should be completed by 4.40 am and the fast in the evening should be broken at 6.50 pm on Saturday and Sunday (the first two days of Ramadan).

After 30 days, again when the moon is sighted, Ramadan month will be officially declared as concluded and Muslim brethren will celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr also called as Eid.
