TDP MPs hand over letter to Meira on T issue

The parliament sessions start from today. The TDP leaders handed over a letter to the Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar asking her to cancel the question hour and allow discussion on Telangana issue.

Meanwhile, the Congress MPs from Telangana region are also planning to drag media’s attention on the same issue. They are reportedly going to meet today to discuss their future course of action pertaining to their approach on Telangana issue in the Lok Sabha.

It may be recalled that the MP s from Congress and other parties have been stalling Lok Sabha for the past two years on Telangana issue. Earlier, when the same issue was raised in the parliament, the BJP has supported the cause in Lok Sabha and told that BJP would support Telangana Bill if it’s introduced in the Parliament. Reacting to these statements, home minister Chidambaram then said that Telangana issue was sensitive one and the solution to this issue should come from Telugu speaking people.

We have to see whether Centre would defend by stating the issue as sensitive one yet another time. (Phani)
