The special CBI court at Nampally in Hyderabad today extended the remand of the accused in illegal mining case and the Emaar-APIIC land scam.

Special judge Naga Maruthi Sarma issued orders extending the remand of Gali Janardhan reddy, his brother-in-law Mr BV Srinivasa Reddy, former mining department director Rajagopal and suspended IAS officer Y. Srilakshmi, all accused in the mining scam, till March 7.

The judicial remand of Koneru Prasad, BP Acharya, Vijayaraghava and Sunil Reddy, all accused in the Emaar-APIIC land scam, was also extended till March 7.

Meanwhile, the CBI court has dismissed a petition filed by the CBI seeking permission to interrogate Srilakshmi and Rajagopal for their role in the illegal properties case involving the YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

The CBI said in its petition that they played important role in the Jagan properties case also while contributing their part to the illegal mining scam.

Nimmagadda Prasad grilled for seven hours

The CBI sleuths today grilled for seven hours Mr Nimmagadda Prasad on his role in the illegal properties case involving Jagan.

During his regime as CM, the late YSR had allotted 15000 acres of land in the coastal areas of Guntur and Krishna districts to the Vadarevu And Nizampatnam Port & Industrial Corridor (VANPIC) promoted by Nimmagada Prasad. He later invested hundreds of crores of rupees in Jagan-owned companies. (JUBS)
