Senior Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer V Nagireddy, in an exclusive interview on Sunday to a news channel, has been quoted as saying that there is nothing wrong in Crime Bureau of Investigations (CBI) officials calling IAS for interrogation. He also said there is no one above law and all have to cooperate with CBI. There is a crusade against anti-corruption in the country and all of us must join in the crusade and contribute as much. Citing small discrepancies in the investigations, no one must blow them out of proportions and avoid the CBI. He went on to say that CBI is also a part of the government like the IAS. Hence there was no wrong in one department questioning the other for the betterment. He also said it was not correct for the A.P. IAS Officers Association to find fault with the CBI.

He opened up saying that people like the anti corruption crusader Anna Hazare are fighting vigorously against corruption. The nation has launched a mighty crusade against corruption. At this juncture citing minor discrepancies, no one must obstruct the crusade. The Senior IAS was earlier summoned by the CBI for his stint in 2006 as the Secretary for Tourism.  In fact Mr Nagireddy is in service serving various departments since the last two and a half decades. Mr Nagireddy is the Secretary for Agriculture.

It may be noted earlier the state Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi also expressed similar opinion on the issue. He is quoted as, “If you have not made a mistake, why do you worry unnecessarily,” to journalists in AP Bhavan in Delhi.
