A major accident occurred at the Steel plant in Vishakhapatnam in the mid night hours of Sunday. Workers were no way involved in the accident and hence all are safe and no untoward incidents are reported. But initial estimates suggest that there were huge losses and damages to equipment. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam has been recognized as the fifth best organization in the Special Category of Best Company in Large Organizations (with more than 10,000 employees). The accident is supposed to be a result as a hole occurred in the ladle.

The hot molten metal flowed down the hole and destructed the transfer car and the transfer truck heavily. Apart from the damages to the equipment, the plant also suffered huge loss as molten metal was wasted, as it got spilled.  Sources revealed that crores of rupees worth molten metal could have got wasted in the accident. Final estimates could come up during the course of the day.
