An additional facility to avoid paper wastage has been proposed by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. The Managing Director Prasadarao informed the media that henceforth e-ticket holders shall be sent and SMS. The SMS will be sent to the mobile number specified by the user at the time of booking the ticket through online facility. The MD announced the latest service while addressing media today, while launching the service at Hyderabad.

This facility is available to all routes where reservation facility is available. The SMS shall have the details of the ticket number, seat number along with the name/names of the passengers. The traveler shall be allowed to travel by showing the SMS, even if the paper ticket is not there. `But a government issued photo identity card must be possessed by the traveler, travelling by online booking,’ confirmed the RTC Executive Director, Ravinder.  The said facility shall avoid wastage of paper and would save a lot of time.   (With inputs from internet-AarKay)
