The CBI officials today grilled Mr Koneru Madhu, son of Koneru Prasad who has been languishing in the Chanchalguda jail for his involvement in the Emaar-APIIC land scam.

Mr Madhu arrived in Hyderabad today form Dubai and the CBI officials, who kept a vigil on his movements, called him to their office at Koti immediately after his arrival. They grilled him on the bank accounts of the Emaar, sale of plots and villas in the Emaar Township and diversion of funds by his family members.

The CBI officials have already arrested Koneru Prasad, also known as Dubai Prasad and Mr Sunil Reddy, a close confidant of the YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy for their role in the Emaar scam.

Latest reports said the CBI has made up its mind to arrest Mr BP Acharya, senior IAS officer and presently the principal secretary in the home department for his role in the scam. Acharya has been facing the charges of reducing the APIIC’s share in the Emaar Estates without informing the Government resulting in losses to the tune of hundreds of crores of rupees to the state exchequer.
