7 Jawans, 3 cops killed in Kashmir Terror Attack

Seven Army personnel and three cops were killed in a predawn attack on an Army camp in Uri area of north Kashmir, where it was scheduled to be the third phase of Assembly elections on Tuesday 9 December. According to sources, Militants has carried out an attack on the Indian army camp at Mohra  on Friday early morning around 3.10 am, where the security forces begun a gun battle.

The security officials insists that the exchange of firing cause three army Jawans and two policemen were killed while three militants were also destroyed. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the terror attack was a ‘unfortunate attempt’ to disrupt peace and normalcy. Terrorists have struck an army camp in North Kashmir between Baramulla and Uri, which it is ongoing encounter.

India Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, where he is likely to campaign in several election rallies for the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, Srinagar has put on high alert.
