Jana Reddy to retire from politics?

Congress senior leader Kunduru Jana Reddy said he may not contest the next general elections but added that he would do justice to any role which will come his way. Yesterday in Telangana Assembly, Jana Reddy spoke about the budget and criticised the TRS government for not allocation sufficient funds to welfare schemes.

Jana Reddy called upon the media to his chamber and had a small chat with them. “I have no differences with anyone and even welcome if anybody wants to lead the Congress party in Telangana. I would also give the Congress Legislature Party [CLP] post,” said Jana Reddy. Regarding the power crisis, he opined that lack of other options, not getting sufficient power from AP are reasons. However, Jana said he would strive to work for the implementation of AP Reorganisation Bill.

Jana Reddy made his political entry with Telugu Desam Party in 1983 and he founded Telugumahanadu but it was merged with Congress party in 1988. From here, Jana Reddy never looked back and in 2004, when Congress got back in power, he served as Home Minister. In Kiran Kumar Reddy's government, Jana worked as Panchayatiraj minister. He is the most non-controversial leader and a true loyalist of Congress High Command.
