Apple CEO says he is gay

Tech giant Apple chief executive Tim Cook has publicly acknowledged his sexuality, saying that he is a gay and is proud of it. This is for the first time, Mr. Cook admitted his sexuality in a public platform and the reason this announcement, is to try to help people struggling with their identity. At the same Cook tried to maintain a basic level of privacy till now as he wrote in a Bloomberg article.

“So if hearing that the CEO [chief executive] of Apple is gay can help someone struggling to come to terms with who he or she is, or bring comfort to anyone who feels alone, or inspire people to insist on their equality, then it's worth the trade-off with my own privacy,” wrote Mr. Cook.

This announcement was a no surprise for the Silicon valley as Cook has accepted before but not on a public platform. Recently Cook backed the equal rights for the gay workers but he doesn't see himself as a gay activist and now he will be recognised so.

This could make Cook land in controversy and under Steve Jobs, Apple was never bothered about non-relevant issues.
