Popular CNN Journalist Fareed Zakaria who interviewed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said he underestimated him but Modi is smart, tough and driven leader that he came across. “Narendra Modi is among the sharpest I have met. I underestimated him. He is very smart, intelligent and focused. He is very driven and has a long term agenda. He wants to be a statesman at the world stage. He is a man who looks to the future and not into the past,” said the CNN journalist. This is Modi's first personal interview after taking chair of the PM post.
In this very interview, Modi said Indian Muslims will live and die for the India and they won't listen to Al-Qaeda or any terror group. Modi also opined that it is Al-Qaeda's illusion if it feels Indian Muslims stands by it. These comments of Modi was appreciated as well as criticised by many. After the interview, Fareed tweeted, “Extremism "crisis against humanity, not crisis against one country or one race" Modi tells me.”
Fareed hoped that Narendra Modi's US trip will be a success as Modi succeeded in bring investments from China and Japan.
