Capital issue turns controversial

While the Andhra Pradesh government is getting ready to announce Vijayawada and Guntur as the new capital of the state, opposition party and few organisations are against this. Firstly, the main opposition, YSR Congress party is firmly opposing Vijayawada and Guntur as capital and MLA Srikanth Reddy demanded that capital should be established in the border of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra. “Since ages, Rayalaseema is being denied development and now with capital going to Andhra, this region is again set to get neglected. We demand the government to establish capital in the border of Seema and Andhra,” said Srikanth Reddy.

YSRCP also accused that TDP government is forming capital in Vijayawada only for the benefit of local leaders as the party has strong hold in many regions. If the capital is formed in Vijayawada, the TDP leaders would get into real estate business and amass huge wealth.

Human Rights Commission too said forming capital in Vijayawada will be the biggest blunder ever and  claimed that farmers will be the major losers which could directly affect the inflation, food security. The commission opined that the government should look out for places where land will be available at low cost and also for the natural resources. The commission appealed the government not to make Vijayawada and Guntur as capital.

On the contrary, Chandrababu Naidu will announce Vijayawada as capital in AP Assembly tomorrow at 12:17 in the Noon.
