The Hyderabad High Court has heard arguments regarding the PIL filed on the Telangana government's comprehensive household survey and said that people should not be forced to take part in the survey and it is upto them. Also the Apex court of state added that government should avoid gathering personal details of people and it is their decision whether to give all the information required.

Survey isn't compulsory: Advocate General

Telangana Advocate General who argued on behalf of the government said that the survey isn't compulsory one and it is being done only in the view of welfare schemes that are being planned for the people. Also claimed that government will not involve in confidential matter and personal details of people.

The petitioner who filed the PIL appealed to the High Court that the government should eliminate the column of personal details of people from the survey form. Also the details of bank accounts, post office accounts and contact numbers can't be revealed to the government and even if the information is gathered, government should not make it public.
