Filmmaker and former Congress MP Dasari Narayana Rao was questioned by the CBI in connection to the Coal Scam.  The 66-year-old Rao, a Congress MP from Andhra Pradesh, was Minister of State for Coal between 2004 to 2006.

CBI will also question former coal secretary Parakh later this week and Kumar Mangalam Birla next week.  CBI is also likely to file case against Parakh and Mr. Birla under criminal conspiracy and corruption for alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks nine years back.

However a decision on it will be taken after the CBI is done with questioning of Parakh and Birla. Meanwhile Dasari responded for his involvement in the scam. “I’m innocent in this scam and have the confidence that I will come out clean. I was deliberately involved in this scam and also knew people behind it. I will reveal their names at an appropriate time,” added Dasari.
