And 23 Indian origin young entrepreneurs made to the list of 450 member Forbes Brightest Young Stars. Described by Forbes magazine as "prodigies reinventing the world right now" these young achievers have made a mark in 15 different fields ranging from finance, sports, media and education.
Here are details of 23 Indian origin achievers:
Chaitanya Mehra: This 28 year old is a portfolio manager at Och-Ziff Capital Management, an investment firm.
Neil Mehta: Aged 29, founder of an investment firm, Greenoaks Capital. Mehta manages almost $600 million by investing funds in industries that range from insurance to e-commerce.
Sahil Lavingia [21]: Founder and CEO of Gumroad, a web tool that allows creators to sell digital products online quickly and easily.
Karan Chopra: 29 years old co-founded GADCO, Ghana's largest rice producer.
Krishna Ramkumar: 28, co-founder of Avanti, which has a chain of learning centers in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kanpur. These institutes provide education in science and math to 750 bright, low-income high school students.
Ajaita Shah: 29, Founder of Frontier Markets, based in India. The organization provides clean energy to families of lower income level.
Kavita Shukla: she invented and patented FreshPaper a low-cost.
The 28 year old Megha Parekh is the vice president of Jacksonville Jaguars, the American football team.
Amir Rao [29]: Studio Director at Supergiant Games and co-creator of Bastion video game. This game allows action role-playing and since 2011 Bastion sold over 2.2 million copies and also won multiple awards.
Divya Nag [22]: co-founder of Stem Cell Theranostics and StartX Med.
Raghu Chivukula [29]: Resident Physician at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Surbhi Sarna, 28, Founded nVision Medical Corporation. Sarna suffered from ovarian cysts at the age of 13. Sarna pledged to create a technology, which would detect ovarian cancer at its early stage.
Sam Chaudhary: This 27 year old entrepreneur co-founded software company ClassDojo, which helps teachers to track classroom behavior of students.
Sayamindu Dasgupta [29]: An MIT Media Lab's PhD student and a vital part of the Lifelong Kindergarten Research Groups Scratch project. The project allows children to programme their own animated stories, games and art.
Pranav Yadav: Ages 28 years, CEO at Neuro-Insight, which is a neuro-marketing firm. It deals brain-mapping technology to investigate and improve upon the quality of programming, TV commercials and platforms.
Eesha Khare is the winner of the Young Scientist Award at the 2013 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. She is the youngest (18 years) among the Indian origin achievers of Forbes.
