Loksatta Protested At Jabbar Travels

Loksatta party protested in front of Jabbar Travels Office at Lakdikapul Hyderabad for justice to the families of 45 passengers burnt to death at Palem in Mahaboobnagar district.

Loksatta party National President Jaya Prakash Narayan along with the family members of the victims of the passengers of the ill fated Volvo bus that caught fire on October 30, 2013 when the bus driver hit a culvert while overtaking a car at early hours when all the passengers were in deep sleep.

As the Travel Operators have not paid any compensation to the victims’ families, they staged dharna before the office of Jabbar Travels.

The police came to the rescue of the Travels by arresting JP, Loksatta party men and the family members of the victims travelled in the burnt bus. They all were taken to the Nampally police station. Loksatta supporters protested in front of the Nampally police station for arresting Jaya Prakash Narayan.

The RTA started raids on the private bus operators after the incident on October 30 2013. A number of buses violating one or other rule were seized since then. Today RTA officials while checking the buses at Ameerpet spotted Jabbar Travels and tried to stop it. But the bus driver sped away without stopping.  A RTA constable ran after the bus fell down and was wounded.
