In a major fire devastation, 170 houses were gutted at Kothapakala near AMG at Dummalapeta in Kakinada, West Godavari District. All the houses belong to the financially poor families and a loss of Rs.30 lakhs is estimated in the calamity.  

At 10:45 PM the fire broke and nobody could say how the fire erupted but it was so sudden that the dwellers of the thatched roof houses could not get their belongings out with them. They just came out and left now with the clothes they are wearing.
