Super Cyclone Lehar Now After Phailin and Helen Cyclones

Seemandhra has to brace for another natural calamity now. The cyclone called Lehar is centered at 200 km from Andaman Nicobar Island near Port Blair. It has crossed Andaman Coast and entered Bay of Bengal which is going to travel towards North-West West getting intensified on the way to landfall on 28th between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam near Kakinada.

Visakhapatnam Weather Center warned Andaman Nicobar Islands that heavy rains will lash with a rain fall of over 25 cm. It also predicted heavy rains on Thursday and Friday in the State especially on Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari districts.

Second Caution is given to the ports of Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Nizampatnam, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Gangavaram, Bhimunipatnam and Kalingapatnam. USA Weather Center called it super cyclone because the intensity is expected much more the recent ones.

It is a worrying factor that the Seemandhra and Utterandhra are going to get hit before they are recovered from previous losses and some of them hardly returned homes.

The State Government is again gearing up for the third cyclone in a row to reduce the loss to life and property.
