Doctors' Strike Again After a Small Let Up

Although RTC, Teachers JAC and now APNGOs have agreed to join duties temporarily calling off strike, still protests and strikes are going on in Seemandhra.

The Government Hospitals Medical Staff JAC called for the strike at Visakhapatnam from Thursday, the outpatient wings of the KGH, REH, T.B., IDH, Mental Care, VGH and ENT were unattended.  

OPs were opened for 4 days during the festival time but again the strike is restarted which will be observed till 26th of this month.  Only emergency cases will be attended by the medical staff during this period.  About 2000 patients daily visit OP daily in KGH alone.  They ran to the private hospitals after learning about the strike.

Even operation theaters in which 120 surgeries are undertaken are also closed.  Patients desirous of getting treatment under ArogyaShree are seen suffering due to the strike after a lull of let up for four days.  

The Medical Superintendant of KGH Dr.M.Madhusudhan Babu said that the emergency cases are being attended.  He also said that as the Government Employees have agreed to call off strike, the doctors are asked to join duties again.
