Some time back it is noticed that the stone sculptured feet of Lord Venkateswara on Narayanagiri on Tirumala hills at the place believed to be the one where He placed his feet while descending from Heavens was disfigured.

The place is Padala mandapam where devotees visit; pay respects and offer coconuts and other things part of pooja.  Some devotees observed that the left toe of the feet were disfigured and took to the notice of the TTD management.   The place was immediately visited by the JEO and Chariman.  

It was believed that the incident took place due to the coconuts in offer were broken there.  The Management took steps and controlled it.  But disfigured sculptor is a bad omen and hurts feelings of the devotees, the management decided to replace it with new feet.  As it is ready now, the time is fixed for tomorrow to take up the replacement procedure.  

Because of the process of replacement has to be done methodically, the devotees will not allowed to visit Padala Mandap from 12.00pm today.   They will be allowed after the new feet are placed.  

The Management says proper security arrangements will be made to ensure that no such damage will be done in future.
