Aadhaar enrolment continued to create chaos!

Interestingly the fact remained that unnoticed was that Hayatnagar mandal, which witnessed public anger on Monday, which had actually recorded 95 per cent enrolment by January-end even though Aadhar enrolment continued to create chaos.

Moreover, for a population of 1,06,430 in the mandal, only over 5,000 persons were to be covered in the second phase of the project which is a number equal to the protestors that took to the streets on Monday. In fact, according to official figures, 80 per cent of the population in the Ranga Reddy district had already been covered under the first and second phases of the project along with municipal circles which are part of Greater Hyderabad have witnessed cent per cent enrolment.

Now, the matter of fact about the present chaos has been more due to the February 15 deadline, than due to the sluggish enrolment, especially with regard to the city and its surrounding areas and moreover, the deadline of February 15 for providing the UID numbers to the LPG distributors has indeed been the source of panic, as only 26 lakh people have received their UID numbers so far, officials said.

In fact, since because the Enrolment ID was not considered valid for the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme, consumers have begun to rush to the centres to repeat the enrolment. Even the officials have informed that for every 100 enrolments, there have been 300 rejections, majority of them due to duplication. As a result of which this reflected the confusion among people who are repeating their visits to the centres, unable to understand what happened to their previous enrolments.
