Rehman in Kadapa Pedda Dargah, symbol of unity in diversity

The 'Mozart of Chennai' A R Rehman offered his prayers at the Ameen Peer Dargah in Kadapa, popular as Pedda Dargah. The twin Oscar awardee participated in the 'Urusu' festival annually held at the Dargah, along with Aishwarya Rajnikanth.

Rehman had made it a point to reach this famous shrine to pay his reverence ever since 2005. The magic musician had been an ardent follower Hazrath Khwaja Syed Sha Peerullah Malik and Hazrath Khwaja Syed Sha Ameenullah Malik and frequently spends time near their tombs in the main dargah.

He also visited the shrine when he won the Oscars in 2009. The Dargah has some elite visitors like film actors Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Samajwadi Party president Amar Singh, actor-turned politician Chiranjeevi and many more celebrities.

The  Ameen Peer Dargah is a symbol of 'unity in diversity.' The annual 'Urusu' festival is filled with  devotees from all sects. The Dargah is a mirror to the national culture and voices the opinion that the onmini potent is one. (Wishesh AarKay)
