Export of seized red sanders, urged by CM

The state governments seeks centre to permit, for export of red sanders in its possession seized from various combing operations. It is a known fact that the forest officials have enhanced their operations in curbing the illegal trade of red sanders. In its raids the departmnent has seized logs and stocked the same which amounts to nearly 9,000 Mt. The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he had urged the centre to grant permission for exporting the same.

CM spoke about the issue while planting the first sapling in a statewide program 'to plant 20 lakhs of saplings in one day' this is a part of the 63rd Vana Mahotsav celebrated by the state. CM was participating in the event at Thummalur Reserve Forest in the Ranga Reddy district.

As a part of the event Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and Minister for Forest, Environment, Science & Technology  Satrucharla Vijaya Ramaraju particpated in the event. Along with nearly 2,000 students the ministers planted saplings in 5,000 hectares of the reserve forest with a bid to bring back greenery in the area. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
