RBI employees take out huge rally on May Day

Commemorating the International Workers’ Day or May Day today, the employees of the Reserve Bank of India in Hyderabad have taken out a huge rally in Pearl City. The rally that started from Tank Bund was concluded at RBI Bhavan in Lakdi-ka-pul. Later, the employees have hoisted the flag and greeted among themselves. They have also paid tributes to the workers who died in the labour movement.

The RBI employees briefed the media about their plans. They have said that the Central Government was inviting Foreign Direct Investments and was planning to privatize the national banks. They have warned that they would bring all the employees of banks to one platform and fight against the proposed privatization.

It may be mentioned that May 1 is observed as the International Workers’ Day in over 80 countries including India and is a public holiday. Earlier, LIC employees too made similar allegations against the Centre. Notably, May Day was also observed at the Congress party office in Hyderabad-Gandhi Bhavan.
