Sonia shifts her focus to AP politics?

With by-polls round the corner, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president seems to have shifted her focus from Delhi politics to AP politics. It was said that she’s directly supervising the state party ahead of by-polls.

The chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana have met at the chief minister’s camp office this morning to reportedly discuss on various factors pertaining to by-polls in 17 assembly constituencies and one lok sabha constituency. It was reported that the duo even discussed on the political situation in the stated and changing political scenario. It has to be mentioned here that the Congress is yet to finalize the list of candidates who will contest the elections.

Meanwhile, AICC sources said that the party supremo Sonia Gandhi is taking the by-election matter into her hands.  Sonia Gandhi is directly supervising the by-polls’ affairs right from selecting the candidates to plans that are to be announced during campaigning.

The sources have  also said that BC candidates and Muslim candidates would be given preference in by-polls. Looks like Sonia Gandhi has lost hope on Kiran and that could presumably be the reason as to why she shifted her focus from Delhi politics to AP politics. If that’s true then change in the top leadership would apparently take place. (Phani)
