Rain dips temperature in Hyd'bad

Heavy downpour was witnessed in Hyderabad in the early hours of Monday that has thrown life almost out of gear in the city. The hot climate in Hyderabad has suddenly turned cool at around 4 AM this morning followed by drizzle. After a couple of minutes, accompanied by gusty winds rain had turned heavy that resulted in power cuts in twin cities.

Although people were said to have enjoyed the rain that came as a respite from hot summer, people who had to travel to offices and schools faced severe problem. The drains were overflowing and roads in many areas were sub-merged by water.

Further, traffic jams were reported at several places. The colonies turned completely dirty with overflowing drain water and slush. Though there’s no rain now, drizzle has been reported at several places.

Notably, people are said to be enjoying the weather by having road side tea and country snacks. It is the first time in Hyderabad this summer wherein people were found wearing jackets and sweaters.

It has to be mentioned here that the temperature in Hyderabad touched over 40 degree Celsius this summer and is expected to cross more than that in May. The situation will almost be the same every year and many people even die of sun strokes in the city. If the city witness continuous rains frequently this summer, then people in Hyderabad will not report of summer blues. (Phani)
