Why no party ensures women safety?

With bypolls round the corner, every political party is coming out with new set of promises, ideas and schemes for the welfare of the public. Some talk of the region, a few focus on loans to lure women and some other talk big on agriculture and electricity.

While no one knows whether these things would be implemented or not, none seems to be talking of overthrowing the so called social evils that have become part and parcel of the so called traditions.

Election campaigns are going on in full swing in the state. Congress leaders came out with same set of promises, TDP has got enough scope to raise fingers at the Congress party besides taking on YSR Congress Party. And who will ensure safety for women? Is the question that apparently engages every average girl in the state.

Offences against women is not a problem in the state and country but even crossed the boundaries wherein Indian sisters who cross borders complain of the dowry harassments and domestic violence. Acid attacks, rapes, female infanticides and dowry deaths continue to hit headlines here and there even in Andhra Pradesh. Political parties should—instead of crying foul on eachother—should compete in eliminating the social evils and when they are successful in accomplishing such tasks, they don’t need to beg for votes since people will come forward on their own to elect the government that can give complete security to women.
