Raghuveera Reddy’s silent deeksha

The Revenue Minister Raghuveera Reddy sat on a silent protest, `Mouna Deekhsha’ in the Anantapur district.  The Minister was observing the deeksha on Ugadi day since the last ten years. As usual the minister reached the Madakasira town in the district and sat on the deeksha, today since morning. The leader sits in front of the Gandhi statue in the centre of the town as a gesture to mourn the rising problems of the farmers. Raghuveera Reddy is a strong leader from Anantapur district. He is 3 times MLA from Madakasira Assembly Constituency and once from Kalyandurg Assembly Constituency in 2009 elections

The leader is said to have moved by the mounting drought and farmer suicides has embarked on this Mouna Deekhsha. On Ugadi every year he sits, the entire day near the Gandhi statue and expresses his grief to the farmers who are unable to celebrate the festival due to the shattered conditions. This year he prayed that there must be abundant rainfall and the smile on the farmers face must brighten up, before taking up the deeksha. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
