Mopidevi questioned by CBI on Jagan

The list of worries seems to be piling up for the Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana. The Minister was today summoned by the CBI in connection to the disproportionate assets case against the YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. Mopidevi a confidants of the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, was summoned for questioning. Incidentally the IAS Officer Manmohan Singh was also summoned today. And he is been questioned by the CBI since afternoon.

The Excise Minister is already facing the heat in the Liquor scam. The minister is in the eye of a storm for allegedly taking Rs 10 lakh bribe from a liquor syndicate member. It may also be noted that Liquor syndicate member Nunna Venkata Ramana, who created a sensation with his confession that he paid a bribe of `10 lakh to excise minister,  beat a hasty retreat last Wednesday, saying he made that accusation under pressure from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He said he was not even a liquor trader but a farmer. Ramana, who was arrested by the ACB in Warangal recently, said in his bail petition that the agency personnel subjected him to third degree interrogation methods to obtain a confession that the excise minister was a recipient of bribes.
