Dayakara arrested, sent to 14 days’ judicial custody

The Warangal district police today arrested senior TDP leader Mr Errabilli Dayakara Rao for obstructing the duties of a police official five days ago.

He was later produced in a Warangal Court which rejected his bail plea and sent him to a 14 days’ judicial remand. TDP senior leaders are reportedly planning to move HC to seek bail for him tomorrow.

The police have filed a case against Dayakara Rao for arguing with the Jafargad SI and obstructing his duties on March 7 in connection with a meeting. After Jafargad police arrested him, he was shifted to Warangal and produced in the court.

Meanwhile, some Telangana lawyers raised slogans against Dayakara Rao at the court when he was produced before the magistrate at Warangal. The lawyers argued and clashed with police for a while on this occasion. (J)
