Chiru denies reports on Deputy Leadership of cong legislature

Reacting to media reports that he was being made deputy leader of the congress legislature party in the state assembly, Tirupati MLA and mega star Chiranjeevi said today he was not aware of any such idea on part of the congress leadership.

Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad, Chiranjeevi said the reports are the creation of the media. “It is not technically possible to make me deputy leader of the legislature party. How can it be possible?” he asked, adding no one discussed the issue with him.

Reports in the last few days said that Chiru would be made deputy leader of the Congress legislature in order to ensure he sits in the front rows of treasury benches along with CM and some senior ministers.

“Due to technical reasons, I am also not attending the legislature party meeting today,” he said clarifying things.

However, reports said Chiru may change his mind at the last minute and attend the congress legislature party meeting where the merger of his legislature party with that of the congress would be formalized.

Meanwhile, congress party chief whip Gandra Venkataramana reddy told journalists that merger of the PRP with the congress in the assembly is likely to be completed at the legislature party meeting today. (JUBS)
