The ACB bosses have reportedly prepared a 1200-page final report on the raids conducted against the liquor syndicates in the state and mentioned the names of about 5000 persons including 20 ministers,140 people’s representatives, 1500 excise staff, 2000 police officials and some journalists, revenue and municipal staff members and officials working in the weights and measures department.

In this back drop, some of the excise staff members met top officials of the ACB and reportedly complained about the harassment meted out to them by the ACB teams.

The ACB, which has been operating directly under the directions of the CM, has not leaked the name of the Minister who was reportedly paid kickbacks to the tune of Rs.20 lakh by liquor syndicates. The Minister belongs to the North Coastal Andhra area, according to reports.

Assistant Commissioner of Excise for Tenali division Mr Hanumantha Rao, who was arrested by the ACB, questioned the wisdom the ACB in not arresting the politicians and others who were named by the liquor syndicate leaders. “Why are you leaving politicians and journalists named by liquor syndicates?” he asked the ACB cops during his grilling.

Meanwhile, ACB has issued a look out notice for Hyderabad liquor syndicate leader Mr Balaraj Goud who has reportedly paid monthly kickbacks to the tune of Rs.2 Cr to several politicians and officials. (JUBS)
