TN CM’s former aid Sasikala Bro’ arrested

The yesterday bigwigs are turning into criminals today. During power whatever one does tyrannically, becomes crime in later years.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s former close friend and today’s worst foe, Sasikala has been in controversy since her expulsion from the party on December 19, last year. The entire groups of Sasikala were dismissed even from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party’s primary membership too. The CM, who was also the Chief of the party, dismissed all of them in a phased manner, sending signals of profound bitterness to the rival party. Today in Tamil Nadu, the cops arrested Sasikala’s brother, Diwakaran, from his house in the Rishiyur village of the Tiruvarur district.

Diwakaran was arrested following a complaint alleging that he was instrumental in demolishing a woman's house in Rishiyur village. Though earlier M R P Ravanan, a relative of Sasikala was arrested in the last week of last month and has ever since been in remand. This the first time after expulsion of Sasikala‘s group, that a person from her family was arrested. But more in the offing say political experts, as the going speaks.

For three decades, Sasikala was acknowledged as a power centre in the AIADMK because of her proximity to Jayalalithaa. Insiders say that her opinions counted towards the selection of ministers and party candidates. In 1996 the close friends fell apart, but it was only for a short period and again Sasikala got back into the power house mode. But this time the CM is for sure not in a position to excuse her former aid, as per reports, planned to pull up a coup to grab the main honors.                          (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
