Cold wave toll rises to 35 in AP

The death toll in the cold wave has risen to 35 in Andhra Pradesh in the last three days and most of the areas in the state continue to be under the grip of the cold wave.

The Visakha agency area, which has been witnessing minus temperatures in the last few days, has recorded 1 degree Celsius for the first time today showing little improvement.

Six persons in Guntur district, four persons each in Karimnagar and Srikakulam districts and two persons in Nalgonda district have succumbed to the brunt of the cold on Monday increasing the death toll to 35.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department said the cold wave would continue for the next two days in the state. (JUBS)
