Nellore court summons Balakrishna for violating rules on road show

A Nellore court issued summons to Tollywood hero Balakrishna today in a traffic rule violation case with regard to the 2009 election campaign.

The case relates to the allegation that Balakrishna conducted a road show violating rules on March 9, 2009 at Sarvepally Cross Roads in Nellore district during his campaign on behalf of the TDP during the last assembly elections.

The complainant, a congress activist, said in his complaint that the road show caused serious traffic problems and put the vehicle riders to great risk. The Venkatachalam Satram police booked cases against Balakrishna and some local TDP leaders.

Cases were registered for conducing road show violating rules and disrupting traffic on the main road. Magistrate G. Kanthimathi of the Nellore town special excise court had issued the summons.

Nellore district TDP leaders Somireddy Chandramohan reddy, T. Nageswara Rao and others were also issued notices. (JUBS)
