T issue rocks Lok Sabha again, both houses adjourned

On the second day of the monsoon session of parliament, both houses witnessed pandemonium on the issues of Telangana, black money and price rise. Both houses were adjourned till noon without transacting any business within minutes of their meeting.

When the houses met at 12 noon, pandemonium continued unabated in both houses forcing adjournment till tomorrow.

Trouble erupted in the Lok Sabha after the members mourned the death of seven passengers killed in the Doon Express train fire accident. There was total confusion with the TRS chief KCR and several congress and TDP members of the T region barging into the well of the house holding placards and raising slogans in favour of Telangana.

While the T region members demanded the government to introduce the Telangana bill, members of the Left parties wanted the Chair to discuss price rise. Simultaneously, BJP members raised slogans demanding discussion on black money. Earlier, the Left parties and BJP gave notices of adjournment motions.

Adding to the noise, the DMK members displayed a news item that had appeared in a vernacular newspaper. Some NCP members also raised slogans and displayed placards seeking scrapping of minimum export price on onion.

In the Rajya Sabha, members demanded suspension of question hour to take up discussion on price rise forcing the Chair to adjourn. (JUBS)
