Fast to keep up T stir momentum: Komati

Former minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy said today he began his indefinite fast to keep up the momentum of the Sakalajanula Samme (all people’s strike) and as a continuity of the T agitation aimed at achieving separate state.

Speaking to reporters at his fasting camp on the second day of his fast at the Telangana Chouk in Nalgonda, Venkatareddy said that people of all segments have announced their support to his fasting program.

“Nothing will happen if one or two leaders do not come to announce their support for my fast,” he said, adding he was hopeful of all public representatives of Telangana joining the T agitation soon.

Venkatareddy asked the party chief Sonia Gandhi and the Centre to come out immediately with an announcement on the formation of Telangana state. He also warned the state government against making any attempts to foil the fast. “Serious repercussions will follow if you try to sabotage my fast,” he warned the government.
