Justice Chalameswar sworn as SC judge

ChalaswamyJustice Chalameswar, hailing from Movva village of Krishna district of AP, was today sworn in as judge of the Supreme Court. He was earlier chief justice of the Kerala High Court.

Along with him, Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court also took the oath as a judge of the apex court and both of them will continue in their positions for seven years.

Born in 1953, Justice Chalameswar took his law degree from the Andhra University. He became the additional advocate general of AP in 1995 and was appointed as judge of the AP High Court in 1999.

Justice Chalameswar took over the Chief Justice of the Assam High Court in 2007 and was transferred to the Kerala High Court in the same capacity in 2010. He is now elevated to the apex court of the country.
