Bizarre thrill seekers - Men looking for HIV

In a bizarre turn of events, a certain group of men in the UK were found to have intercourse with nearly 1000 men to willingly contract the HIV virus. There men were seeking thrill through high risk behavior.

The practice even has a name – Bug Chasing. Hundreds of men are communicating and arranging to meet online to engage in this high risk behavior. The practice originated in the US, where men try to contract the HIV virus that weakens the body's immune system. This lays them open for many diseases with no hope of a cure.

When few bug chasers were asked why they do it, one of them reportedly said that the medication used to control the virus gives them a better quality of life. On medication, he said he feels fit and full of life.

Shockingly, one of reasons these men contract the virus willingly is to have free medical care from the government. Tests are conducted every three months and hence, any problems are dealt with immediately, all on the National Health Service costs.

Last year, the NHS in the UK spent £840million for the treatment of HIV, averaging at £10,000 a patient. These men who are seeking thrill through HIV pose a very scary problem.
