Rayudu scores maiden ton

Ambati Rayudu scored his first century in the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad. It was Sri Lanka who won the toss and elected to bat first. India's Umesh Yadav stuck in the first over of the match as he dismissed Kusal Perera. Another opener Dilshan tried to attack the Indian bowlers but was dismissed at 35 after putting a half century partnership with Sangakarra. With captain Mathews, Sangakarra tried to build the scoreboard but wickets fell at regular interval which made things tough for the visitors. However, captain Mathews batted till the end and ensured a respectable total in the board which wasn't enough for the hosts.

In reply, India made a slow start and lost Rahane in the seventh over. Then it was Shikhar Dhawan and Ambati Rayudu who made sure, India did not lose any wickets further. Dhawan in the meantime complete another half century and after putting century stand with Rayudu, he fell for Prasanna at 79. Captain Kohli chipped in and gave a pat to Rayudu who was batting brilliantly on the other side. Rayudu though made slow start, scored quickly the second half century of his score. He remained unbeaten and was awarded 'Man of the Match'.
