Windies thrash India in opener

West Indies defeated India in the first ODI of the bilateral series by 124 runs at Kochi. India won the toss and Dhoni put the visitors to bat first. Marlon Samuels ton and Dinesh Ramdin helped West Indies to post a huge total on the scoreboard which made it difficult for the Indian batsmen. Batting first, the West Indian batsman could not give a good start. The Bravo brothers and opener Smith were removed at regular intervals which unsettled the score card. But it was Samuels and Ramdin, who took it on the Indian bowlers. Both together posted 165 runs partnership. In the mean time Samuels completed his century and Ramdin surpassed half century. West Indies scored 321 runs for the loss of six wickets in their innings.

Chasing the total, India made a good start. Rahane who opened the innings for injured Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 24 and from here the downfall of Indian batsmen continue. Though Shikhar Dhawan scored 68, it wasn't enough to chase the total. Rayudu, Jadeja are the only two main batsman to score double digit and rest of the batsmen failed miserably. In the end, India were bowled out for 197 runs.

Scores: WI: 321/6, M Samuels 126, Ramdin 61, Shami 4/66
    India: 197, S Dhawan 68, Jadeja 33, Samuels 2/10
