Narang and Moldoveanu had the same score of 103.1 but the Romaninan had finished first in the qualifying round earning him a better position in the final round.
Abhinav Bindra, the Gold medalist in the Beijing Games had not qualied with his score of 594/600 while Narang had gone past the score with 598/600 and finished third in the final round. Bindra had jeopardized his chances of qualifying with three nines in the 6th and final round.
Abhinav Bindra was also not consistent with his world ranking in the past couple of years. He had also sunk as low as 20th though there were several expectations that he would defend his ranking after his victory in 2008.
