Sachin Tendulkar missed in Lanka tour

Sachin Tendulkar, the name that figures for the maximum time in the cricket book of records. To fans, he is a demi-god, to opponents he is fierce and to his teammates, he is a friendly mentor. Sachin, the name is synonym for `gentleman cricket’.  At 39 he opting out of the Sri Lanka tour is by choice. To a media interview, the stalwart said, "I requested BCCI that I wanted to spend time with my family. This is the time for school holidays. If I had decided to go to Sri Lanka, I would have started my preparation by now. But I wanted to spend some quality time with my children since after this I would be playing continuously for next 10 months,"

Nothing astounding about the issue, however the team shall be missing him in the dressing room and in the team’s think-tank meets. The situation differs with fans; many just switch off the televisions once Sachin is declared out. Such is the euphoria about this little master. He is undoubtedly the indomitable force in Indian cricket.

There could be some `gentleman’ players, some good batsmen, some fiery hitters, some record-breakers. But this man is a rare blend of all things in one and probably never one again in future. Hence, the mark of respects to the first man who tread on moon remains a historic event while others are a part of this legacy. Nevertheless, the main focal point is the first man who conquered and that is Sachin Tendulkar, the Rajya Sabha MP. (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
