Murray to face Swiss Champion Roger Federer on Sunday
Andy Murray became the first person in Britain to become a finalist in Wimbeldon after 74 years. The long hiatus was broken after Murray defeated fifth Seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with a 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 victory.
Bunny Austin was the last tennis player hailing from Britain to enter the Finals of Wimbeldon in 1938 and after 11 failures the same feat was emulated by Andy Murray's triumph over the Frenchman Tsonga.
In his previous attempts, Murray had lost at the semi-finals thrice and joined the house of near misses along with his English mates Mike Samgster, Tin Henman, and Roger Taylor.
He would have to face the 6 time wimbeldon champion, Roger Federer in the Finals to be held this Sunday. However, Andy's real task lies not just in reaching the semi finals but in going a little further in the book of history by claiming a wimbeldon title.
After his victory he would join the likes of Fred Perry the first, and the only, English man to win a Wimbeldon title in 1936. With the kind of determination and focus that he had displayed in the game with Tsonga and David Ferrer, who knows, he is on his path to make history and to make England proud.
