Team India crumbles after a brilliant start, Oz follows the trend

Team India succumbs to pressure on the third day at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds in their first test against the Australians, today at Melbourne. The Australians who took to their second innings also faced the same fate like the Indians, inspite of a first innings lead of 51 runs.

Post Sachin the Indians strong batting line up crumbled on the day. Dravid got out without adding even a single run to the overnight score of 214/3, on Tuesday. Later the batsmen walked back to the dressing room with meager scores. The only person who shined in the match on the Indian side for the day was Ravindraa Ashwin who scored 31 runs. And the Indians crumbled to a score of 282 all out, in 94.1 overs. The ultimate damage to the Indians was done by Hilfenhaus who grabbed 5 wickets.

The Australians who came into bat after lunch followed their rivals when they too crumbled for 27/4 just before drinks.   But later consolidate with Ricky Ponting and Hussey in the middle. Ponting has just reached his fifty, Hussey just 4 short of his fifty. The two make the going good leading the hosts from the front and pulling up the score board to 117/4 in 35 overs. The ultimate damage to the Australians was done by Umesh Yadav who grabbed 3 wickets.
