India wins first ODI against West IndiesGiven a target of 215 for victory in the first one day international against the hosts West Indies, India led by young Suresh Raina won the match by 4 wickets at the Queen’s Park Oval at the Port of Spain in Trinidad on Monday. India now leads the five-match series 1-0.
 
Elegant right hander Rohit Sharma was declared the man of the match for his daring and well compiled 68 while opener Shikhar Dhawan (51) and Raina (43), both left-handers, also donned crucial roles as India nailed the chase with utmost care and aggressiveness.
 
Earlier, the West Indies team won the toss and elected to bat first giving a target of 215 for the tourists on a sluggish pitch.
 
Rohit and Raina took upon themselves to swing the game and bring victory to their side when India was deep in trouble at 104 for 4 in the 26th over.
