Goa Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has been unanimously elected as the new chief minister of Goa at the legislature party meeting and he will be taking oath at 4 PM today. Though deputy cm Francis D'Souza has threatened the BJP leadership, the party went ahead with finalising and announcing the new CM of Goa.

Parsekar became the new CM as Manohar Parrikar resigned to his post as he will be inducted in Narendra Modi union cabinet tomorrow. Before resigning, Parrikar met all the BJP ministers and legislators and thanked them for their continuous support to him. He will be flying to Delhi tonight.
